Changing the Weather: Part 2

“Cookie of the Day!”

I recently discussed in Part 1: Changing the Weather, that there are things about us that still need to be discovered.  Life and all its twists and turns help aid us in finding them.  When things happen to us or our family that are unfortunate, our instincts aren’t to give up all of a sudden.  We have the natural instinct to fight back or resist the infractions.  It is embedded within everything that we do.

Whether it relates to maternal instinct, paternal instinct, human instinct, survival instinct, even destiny instinct!  When most plants exposed to or experience harsh weatherization, they don’t necessarily completely die.  They enter a dormancy, that most revive from.  Its bloom can revisit with proper care and nutrients.  Struggles and difficulties don’t defeat you, they help develop your skin.  You get stronger and wiser and equipped.  They help create that new layer of resistence on your outer shell.  We are to guard thy hearts, you know.

Protection for our core is essential in preserving energy to face the tasks at hand.  Not being moved by circumstances around you, (taking note, but not moved) just shifting into the mode that you need to be in, in order for you (and everything connected to you; i.e., family, loved ones) to be “good”.  And it sounds plain english, because that’s exactly what it is!  I’m sure that when the sun is out and things are going super great, we feel there’s nothing else to know.  Maybe except the things on our “to-do” lists.

People are satisfied when they feel safe, and their families are safe.  When things are structured and laid in plain sight, we are most confident.  But as we all should know, life is not like that.  From the beginning of time, and as well as a baby forms in the womb, we were created to adjust.  If we can practice it with our body, we can practice it with our minds, hearts, spirit.  You can discover valuable lessons of who you truly are just by how you handle things in your life.

I failed to mention that some of the pieces you discover may not be good ones.  These are areas where you need to re-adjust your adjustments.  Remember that you want the best positive outcome for yourself/family.  Your pieces may be discovered when you become inpatient.  It will reflect.  It may be discovered when you speak.  Tone, disposition, and attitude matter!  It can be discovered in stressful encounters and how you choose to handle them could lie a piece.  Sometimes they can even be discovered unconsciously, like committing an act of kindness without first being asked or told to do so.

It can even be discovered in your work ethics, and how much you believe in what you do.  The list can go on and on, and it does.  Because each one of us are unique in our own design.  So we all adjust, learn and grow differently.  Even all with the same goal of becoming a better you, and getting the most out of your life.

*Check back next post for a personal experience sheet of some of my life’s pieces that I discovered and/or adjusted in my journey!
